Loire Valley - Stay in Ambroise or Blois?
Looking for a place to stay in the Loire Area early June. $100 approx. Recommendations for either city. Is one city preferable? Your thoughts and suggestions.
Thank you, Sylvie

Try the LaBreche Hotel in Amboise. Their website is LaBreche-Amboise.com.
I haven't stayed there yet, but booked on the recommendation of someone else. Great food. Half-board is extremely reasonable.

Hi Sylvie!

Amboise is a very charming little town with interesting things to see. The chateau & Clos Luce, Da Vinci's home.

Drove through Blois, but it's much bigger. Beautifully situated on the river.

I would choose Amboise.

Bon voyage!

Amboise is my preference for accommodations, but I always make time to visit Blois, too. Amboise is much easier to get around in. I think Le Lion d'Or hotel would be a good choice within your budget. It's centrally based and has a very good restaurant.

Sylvie ... Was in the Loire Valley last October and after listening to many posted opinionions we choose Amboise as our central point. We were not disapointed! The people were wonderful and when we go back to the Loire, we will definately stay in Amboise again.

We stayed at LaBreche two weeks ago and would also recommend it. Nice rooms, good food, reasonably priced.
regards - Tom

My vote goes for Amboise. Charming town.

Thank you for your thoughts! We are looking forward to Ambroise.
Any thoughts on the cottage at Manoir les minimales, not in the main house.
Is it comfortable as other recommendations? The site shows the main house and water views which look splendid. Thanks, Sylvie

Sylvie:

It's AMBOISE, not Ambroise, as all the people who've given you info have noted. If you know how to spell it, you can probably do a good web search and get lots of information.

Thanks so much, I can probably get much more info now. S
