hi uptowngirl,

was 74 euros the entire cost? taxes? enviro fee? airport pickup fee?

we rented through autoeurope/europecar while in provence and found the 'extra' charges to be really exorbitant...

thanks!!

I think St. Cirq is confusing that long tree-lined drive to CHAMBORD with the not-so-unusual approach to Chenonceau...

No, Dukey. Look at the last photo on this blog. It's a long driveway, studded with statues.

lilaki,

the 74 euro was total and included basic insurance.

They did offer the extra insurance for 9.90 euro more and that would be you are not out of pocket any money if anything happens.

In the past, I have used my Capital One credit card to cover the extra insurance. You can contact your CC company for info and the customer service at National was very helpful. I didn't have to pay anything in advance for the reservation.

Thanks for the brief trip report. I wished everyone who asked a question would later tell us what the result was.

Glad you got to see the dogs in action at Cheverny. We got there just a couple of minutes before they were fed, yapping so noisily. Then the food came out and then quiet as they gulped down the food in a few seconds!

Too late for this conversation, but Chaumont can be viewed from the road.

Chaumont is probably more interesting in the middle of summer because of its themed garden competition.
