Loire Valley - Most Romantic Hotel/Chateau?

Help! We are planning a second honeymoon trip to the Loire Valley and have narrowed our lodging down to Les Minimes, Le Choiseul and Chateau de Pray because we want to be in the Amboise area. I know Les Minimes is right on the edge of town, but not sure if the other two are walkable distance, for say strolling to/from dinner in town. Also, which one would you call the most "romantic" of the three?

Thanks to all!

Jennifer

I am answering your post so that it gets bumped up as I'm interested in any replies. We are also planning a trip to the Loire Valley and our 1st choice is Les Minimes. Good luck.

Did not stay in the other two, but did stay in Le Choiseul. I wouldn't term it romantic (but it's not unromantic). It's certainly walkable and lovely.

Jennifer:

I'm being redundant, but you asked so I will repeat:

I stayed at Le Choiseul this summer. The room was spacious and even included a separate sitting room and a very large bath. The dining room has a michelin star and is excellent.

We also had a wonderful lunch (one of the best meals of our trip) at Le Parvis, which is a small restaurant down an alley directly across the main entrance to the castle at Amboise. It was very reasonable (both food and good wine) and intimate.

Have a great trip!

Hi!
Last year we stayed at the Chateau de Pray in mid August.

We liked it, and the room was very nice, with an enormous and very comfortable bed with canopy.
The Chateau also has an excellent gourmet restaurant and a nice swimming pool with a view. IT is also next to some hiking trails. However, it is not very close to town( for strolling and having dinner), but if you have a car you should have no problems.
They also had a very good buffet breakfast (I think it was included on the rate).
Alexandra
