Loire Valley Chateaux

I'm trying to budget my trip to France and wondering how much the admission fees are to the Loire Valley chateaux ie, Aziz de Rideau, Chambord, Amboise. Thanks for your help!

Most that we visited were in the 6-9 Euro range, less for under 14, but no special rate for over 60's

Most decent guidebooks list admission costs, including Fodors. You can even find this info on this site, in the Destinations section:

From what I remember, the chateaux are free the first Sunday of the month...

Though some of the worst venue visits I've had have been on free days. The Prado in Madrid sticks in my mind. Accidentally went on free Thursday. Paid to go back a few days later so I could see it without the mass of humanity.

Depends on when you go, I suppose. We toured the castles at Angers and Azay-le-Rideau the first Sunday of November 2002 and there were only a handful of visitors at each. It was just a happy coincidence that the day we had planned to visit anyway turned out to be the free day.
