Loft at Palazzo Ravizza Siena
 

Has anyone stayed in one of the loft rooms at the Palazzo Ravizza? I am booking rooms for two couples in Sept./Oct. 2005, probably for two or three nights. One couple is on an extreme budget. Any comments would be appreciated!

I don't know what you mean by a loft room, but we had 2 rooms at the Palazzo Ravizza in June, a double room and a triple room, both in the back with beautiful garden views, on one of the upper floors. They were both beautiful rooms and the view out of the window of our double room was stunning, down into the palazzo RAvizza's garden, out over the wall of Siena, and into the Tuscan hillsides! Wow! Breakfast was very nice and served in the lovely garden. I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms in the front wouldn't be the same as they wouldn't have the view of the garden and the Tuscan hillsides. I wouldn't want rooms in the front.

There are a douple of computers in the lobby where you can check your e-mail for free, by the way, if you can get a turn on one!

Melissajoy, thanks for the info. The hotel web site describes the loft rooms as being one flight of stairs higher than where the elevator goes.

These are the least expensive rooms available there, so I am wondering if they have also been updated and have a view. If they are teeny-tiny and you hit your head on the ceiling they are not worth it!

I wrote the hotel asking for more information about the lofts, but I haven't heard back from them.

If you end up looking for something else for your friends, I'm also looking at the Il Casato. It looks to be very near the Palazzo Raviza. I'm still researching it, but you might want to make a note of it.

Still wondering if anyone knows anything about the "loft" rooms at Palazzo Ravizza.

Jeanne, I haven't stayed there yet, but I just made a reservation for a loft room. I had emailed them to ask how many stairs were involved and they emailed me back saying there are 10-15 steps after the elevator. You can request a garden view, which I did, and it was noted in the confirmation that I have reserved one. Also, their website mentions half-board but they no longer offer that.

That review sounds very good. Only thing: my friend and I want twin beds and the reviewer says it's a king. I'll write and see if they separate into two beds.

We're going in April (unless the dollar collapses!). I've written about the loft rooms, still trying to figure out whether they can provide twin beds. From reading the reviews at trip advisor, it sounds like Room #50 is the best.

I'll post a report if we stay there.

Rummaging through some of my old posts tonight, I found your inquiry about a loft room at Palazzo Ravizza and the question about twin beds.

The bed in the photo looks like a double or king but is actually two twins pushed together.

The views out the window were magnificent! Love Siena!

Did you like being in town as opposed to outside the walls? We'll have a car, but I understand their parking situation is very convenient.
