lodging on Isle of Skye

Do any of you have recommendations for where to stay on the Isle of Skye for 3 nights. We will have a car.

Have you undertaken a search on the forum?
and have you gone through the listings on Booking.com?
You have not given any details of what you are looking for.

https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1563681...kin=&checkout= I am in love with these hobbit houses. Friends stayed in a boat there. I love staying close to a pub but they loved it.

WHEN? Budget? How many people?

Two of us need a room for 3 nights in Mid May. I never know my budget until I explore costs in an area. I think I have found something in the Dunvegan area. thank you

We spent 3 nights in Skye last September. This was an active holiday (lots of hiking/walking etc.) and we covered a lot of ground - Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Neist Point, the Coral Beach, Fairy Glen, Fairy Pools, Talisker etc. etc. In that context, we found Portree to be relatively "centrally located" for our explorations (we were driving out everyday) with a good choice of accommodations and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay at Skye B&B Duirinish - Viewfield Road, Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland - wonderful hosts.

Wow! thanks for sharing.

Tidy, just read your other post. You love B&Bs. We are the opposite. Hotel or self-catering is our mode of lodging. Sounds like a great trip.

We are fine with hotels as well.

Another vote for Cullin hills was fantastic. My jaw dropped when I first saw the view overlooking the lake (and remember we were in Skye where everything is beautiful). Pre-drinks on that meadow overlooking the lake, pretty town and the hills in the distance - a memory I will treasure forever.

To clarify, the Cuillin Hills Hotel is located on the Bay of Portree which is part of the Sound of Raasay. It is not a lake. The lawn runs down to the water's edge. The hotel is nice but note that not all rooms have a seaview. Portree is the most centrally located place for visiting Skye. Another good option for location would be the Sligachan Hotel.

Thanks, we found a place in Dunvegan as we want to go to Three Chimneys for dinner.
