Lodging near University of Glasgow?
Dear Fodorites,
DH and DS are taking a campus visit in late October. Can anyone recommend lodging (B&B, Guest House, Hotel) relatively close to the campus, in the budget range ($75-$100 per night)? They'll be relying on public transportation for the weekend, so even lodging close to the SPT but a little further afield would be appreciated.
Thank you!

$75 is only about £45 - that is even low for a hostel unless they want to sleep in bunk beds in an open dormitory.
$100 (a bit under £65) is more doable but still quite low for a city property. Have you contacted the University to see if they have recommendations or maybe availability in student accommodations.

Sorry if I don´t understand who DH and DS are but if this is an official visit why not ask the University ?

If by SPT you mean the Strathclyde Transport people you are talking a very wide area.
I´m assuming you want to stay local and not just anywhere on the SPT network.
This site might help as well:

Been a while since I was a student but 45 quid a night will get you something decent no doubt.

Thank you, everyone. The university residential services site doesn't have anything remaining for the weekend in question, as it is an official campus tour weekend and it seems we're a little late with our lodging quest.
Hotels in and around the campus seem inconsistent in price range and quality, too, which prompted my question. We''ll up the budget if necessary; the guys would just like a good three or four star place at a decent rate, and reasonably close to campus.

That in internet/Fodors shorthand for Dear Husband, Dear Son, DD = Dear Daughter and so on.
(Or I suppose - depending on if someone is in the doghouse - could be Damn Husband, Son, Daughter, etc)

Found a room at Argyll Hotel, £160 total for two nights, including breakfast. I will report out on the boys' experience.
(Should anyone wonder, it's Darling Husband and Darling Son in our house. )
