Lodging in Orvieto, Todi, Montefalco

Hi,
My wife and are off for a bike tour in Italy in a few days. Any suggestions for budget lodging in Orvieto, Todi, and Montefalco?

Thanks.

In Montefalco, I can recommend the Bed and Breakfast Antico Frantoio Brizi. Check out their web site, as well as my posting on this website. Mrs. Brizi is extremely cordial and informative and will welcome you with unusual hospitality. Tell her that you learned of her property from this site. She speaks English and rents out the master bedroom with a private balcony overlooking the rolling hills, for 50 Euros or so (no a/c). Breakfast included. Montefalco itself is a GEM.

Five or so km south os Orvieto is Locanda Rosati (website), a charming small place presided over by the master of the dinner table. The food and wine keeps on coming. Great fun!

If you want places near Bevagna, just ask.

Thanks for the quick responses. Both sound just right. DRJ, I am all ears about your recommendations around Bevanga.

Thanks.

In Bevagna proper, I think you might enjoy Il Chiostro di Bevagna. See their website.

GAC,

Could you give a little more info on Bed and Breakfast Antico Frantoio Brizi? We are going to be in that area next year, and the price sounds too good to be true. Thanks.

I have two places in or near Bevagna. First, the owner of Enoteca Piazza Onofri (in the center of town) rents thirteen apartments, recently renovated. There is a website and the enoteca is a center of good wine and food.
Tha other is Le Case Gialle, a complex of five small apartments a km or two from the village of Gualdo Catanio a half dozen km from Bevagna. The owners, fugitives from Milan's ad world are most gracious and they make award winning olio olivo. They, too, have a website.
Buon viaggio.

maitaitom: please see my posting of 11/26/2003 at 10:33 a.m. You'll find it by doing a search under the name:
"Antico Frantoio Brizi"
