Lodging in Cinque Terre villages
We are to visit Cinque Terre this summer (yes, I know - hot and crowded, but so be it) and are looking for a place to stay for several days. Quiet, clean, modest price. Any suggestions on which village and a contact for a room?

We love Hotel Villa Steno in the old town of Monterosso. Monterosso is the largest town but the old town section is just as charming as the smaller villages... and less crowded than many of them.
Do a search for "Hotel Villa Steno" and you should be able to pull up the numerous glowing reviews. It is super popular though, so you'd need to reserve ASAP. If it is full, ask about their sister hotel the Pasquale |
Second for Hotel Villa Steno. If you're driving, be sure to reserve a parking spot. The hotel has very few spaces.

I would stay at the villa edera in Moniglia. Ask to stay in the castello in the monteleone room. It was incredible.

Another vote for Villa Steno but it may be too late to get a reservation for this summer. We have also stayed at de Baranin in Manarola and enjoyed it. I believe de Baranin would be a bettere choice for a tight budget.
