Lodging in Brussels

So, instead of taking a train from Paris to Bruge for a night then another train to Brussels for two more nights before returning back to Paris, I'm going to heed the advice of a fellow Fodorite (the amazingly AWESOME MorganB!!!!) and just take in Brussels for 3 nights with a day trip to Bruge. My question is, any suggestions on hotel lodging that is close to the city's touristy area AND easy to get to from the Midi Train station? From Hotels.com I found... Best Western Royal Centre ($95.93USD/night), Hilton Brussels City Hotel ($93.27USD/night). Any recommendations, suggestions, advices? Please??? Thanks all!

We stayed at Atlas Hotel a few years ago - the taxi from/to Gare Midi (also called Gare Zuid) was about 5 Euro (2 passengers).

psycho...wanna try a quirky but comfortable lodging? The Mozart is just a block from Grand Place..good breakfasts, smallish rooms, clean, elevator. Doubles under a 100E.
Can walk from Midi.

Are you sure you can walk from Midi, or do you mean you can walk from Centraal?
