Lodging advice for Interlaken
Anyone have advice on where to stay in Interlaken...looking for a reasonable 3-star location. We are going in Mid-may.

Susie,

There is two very nice hotels right accross from the train station. Convenient if you are traveling by train. The first one you come to is a 3 star, the Hotel DuLac. It is right on the channel between the lakes. The rooms are large, as well as the baths, and it has a good breakfast. Costs about $80 per night in shoulder season. That would be my recommendation. Have a nice time. Interlaken is a beautiful city.

Greg
Good afternoon, Susie There are two
railroad stations in Interlaken, Interlaken West and Interlaken East.
Interlaken West is just a stop enroute
to Interlaken East. From Interlaken
East the SBB Brunig line goes up to
Luzern and the Berneroberland Bahn BOB
goes to Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald.
The Du Lac is located behind Interlaken
East. Also close to Interlaken East is\
The Carlton, Hoheweg, 92 is a three star
hotel with 48 rooms and next door to it
is the Europe, Hoheweb, 94 which is a three star hotel with 37 rooms. Beleive
the Du Lac is listed as a four star...
Have not personally stayed at the Du Lac
however my nephew did use a few years
back and was very satisified with it and
its location. We stayed at the Hotel Lotschberg in May 99. Great location --- close to the train station, recommended in Rick Steves' book, good breakfast and wonderful owners. We sent my in-laws there the next year. The loved it too!
