Lockers at Termini Station

Does anyone know if there are luggage lockers at Rome's Termini. If there are are they large enough for luggage?
Thanks.

TravMimi Apr 8th, 2007 12:24 PM

There are 2. 1 at track 1 and 1 at track 22.

Thank you TravMimi --are they large enough for a wheeled duffel that is about 15 x 30?

TravMimi Apr 8th, 2007 12:31 PM

I'm pretty sure it will fit. If not there is a place to ask about checked luggage room. (if it's open)

Thank you --that's very helpful.

I don't think any Italian stations have lockers in use. There is a manual left luggage office ("diposito bagagli").

GeoffHamer is right, all the luggage lockers were closed on Sept 15, '01 and have been removed from Termini.

I snipped this from a past post of mine. Regards, Walter

LUGGAGE STORAGE (Deposito Bagagli)
Alongside Termini's Track 24 there is an signposted elevator that will take you downstairs to luggage storage.
Be warned though the line esp in the morning can be long and slow moving, I'd say ~100 people lined-up ~0930 in May'06.
A person's website mentioned waiting 2hrs in Oct'05. All left luggage is X-rayed.

There are NO self-service luggage lockers in Italy since Sept'01.

Melissa (Nicolas Inn) mentioned this option on the Frommer's messageboard and I checked it out.
There is a laundromat that provides luggage storage for 2e on the northside of Termini.   It's on Via Milazzo #20 just after the cross-street Via dei Mille. There is a yellow laundromat sign hanging over it easy to see from down the block and it's called 'Bolle Blu', in the window is a sign saying '2euro Deposit Baggages Open 0800-2200'.
She also posted that this place also has luggage storage and another poster said that they had used it; "Navigator Internet Cafe on Via Marghera between Via Marsala and Via Magenta".

I don't think luggage is X-rayed any more. I used the one at Venezia Santa Lucia last month and there were no checks and no delays.

Sorry for the incorrect post. I never used the lockers myself, but have used the baggage check, which takes A LONG TIME. Last time I was there I could see the lockers. Maybe the line was so much longer than usual because the lockers were closed. Took almost an hour to drop off baggage.
