(But next time do try the International Festival's wackier theatre offerings too ) >>

yes, I note that you missed Henry Blofeld:

[Ian Fleming named his villain after Henry's dad with whom he was at school]

I wonder if his humour crosses the pond? he certainly qualifies as wacky.

Ann, that was Fringe too, not International Festival. (Example of a wackier EIF offering - being a single audience member experiencing a show while lying on a piano? ) But I would have gone - he was always my favourite on TMS - although I'm not sure all his humour crossed the posh/non-posh divide, never mind the Pond!

ok, caroline, not having ever been to the E'burgh festival, I'm not sure what's part of which!

we did see Henry at the St' Ives festival a few years ago - if you're a fan he's great, if not, I agree that his brand of humour may not be capable of translation, even into american. He was a guest on "just a Minute" this week as well, and though he was incapable of keeping to the rules, he was still the star of the show.

do you miss the radio a lot? it's something that makes me think twice about moving abroad.

Ann, I'll answer over on my thread so as to avoid cluttering up Nikki's any more. (Sorry Nikki!)

Brilliant report, Nikki. So pleased you had a good time.

Annhig, I didn't know that, about Henry Blofeld. That's my new fact for the day
