Locations with warm temperatures in NOvember
 

I am traveling to Leipsig in Germany mid November for an event. I'd like to depart from there and travel for a week in Europe. Where in Europe can I hope to visit that would have temperatures in the upper 60's or higher? I'm not one to just sit on a beach so I am looking for place where I can do walking/food tours and view pretty scenery and buildings.

Costa del Sol, Crete, Sicily, and Cyprus all spring to mind.

In the Mediterrean, you may encounter rainstorms in mid-November, but you may also be lucky.

Weatherwise, these would be my favourite destinations:

- The Canary Islands.
- The Côte d'Azur.
- The Southern part of Turkey.
- Greece - Rhodes, Southern Peloponnese, Crete.
- Though not Europe: Southern Morocco (Marrakech, Agadir).

Canary Islands would be nice. I need to go back.

We spent a week in February (thus possibly similar weather) around Tarifa in southern Andalusia (fly into Gibraltar, Malaga, even Seville) - warm sun, Roman ruins, white villages... beautiful.

Tarifa is lovely plus it offers the opportunity of a day trip to Tangier.

Cyprus and Antalya - Alanya - Adana are drier than Greece end the Western Mediterranean. So would be Lebanon and Israel.

The upper 60s isn't that spectacular.

Before opening the thread, I imagined a post asking for the mid 80s which is guaranteed nowhere in Europe during November.

I'd agree with all the above and include, Malta.

The coast around Tarfia is stunning but the weather is not a settled as that 100 miles up the coast on the Costa Del Sol, where the coast is anything but stunning.

Personally, I would try Seville and the Costa de la Luz or Sicily ( where temperatures would easily be in the upper 60s, although we have visited Catania twice in November and experienced heavy rain.

Believe it or not in late October last year, we had the upper 60s in Scotland which means this year it will be snowing in August!

Marrakesh is the obvious one.

One of the travelers who will be with me has inquired about Porto Portugal. Can anyone provide input on this city?

interesting city built into a gorge, a bit tatty on the edges, blue tiles, Port wine, art deco areas.

The Canaries will be warmer and drier

Late fall weather in most of the northern hemisphere is not reliably warm, even in places that can be warm. Tarifa in Spain, for instance can be mind-numbingly windy and as far south as Marrakech I almost froze in March. Many southern spots will be warmer than most northern ones but to expect them to be in your preferred temperature range and also be of particular interest to you may be asking too much.

I've enjoyed Malta in December, but cooler than you ask with some rain. Same for Rome. This site says Marrakech has an average high of 72F in both November and March, but I found cold & wet. http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/w...-Haouz-Morocco

I'd advise to head south, yes, but be sure to pick a place you'll enjoy even in a coat.

You don't need a coat in Cyprus in mid-November and I believe it to still be in the northern hemisphere. It's probably the most perfect time to visit as it is extremely hot in the summer (currently there are some terrible forest fires due to the heatwave)
