Locating a comparable hotel

I am in the early planning stages of another trip to Paris in late fall/early winter of this year. I have not yet decided whether I'll book an apartment or a hotel.

My question is: I have stayed in the 5th at the Familia, in the 6th at both Hotel de Marroniers and Deux Continents, and in the 7th at the Muguet, and I stayed in an apartment on Rue St. Dominique. I would like a different hotel this time and am thinking in the 6th between Blvd. St. Germain and the River. I love the area and would feel comfortable coming back to the hotel after dark, though probably wouldn't be out too terribly late anyway.

The question: Can anyone recommend a hotel in the 6th that would be comparable to those named in the price range of between $125 and $150 per night. Obviously wouldn't need AC and would not do breakfast at a hotel.

Merci!

While you're looking, keep in mind that the price range you're looking for is a maximum of 110 euro per night.

Based on what I've seen, you are 'shopping' in an expensive hotel district. 150-180€ is going to be more the norm for a double. You didn't specify single or double, by the way...
Even Ira's beloved 2* Bonaparte is 124/142€ for a double (and it's on the St Sulpice side of St Germain).

Some less expensive hotel rooms in Paris. The few times I stay there, I mainly look for somewhere with a metro station nearby as I'm out all day.

Hotel St. Thomas D'Aquin

Located between the Seine and Blvd. St. Germain - wonderful location, remodeled a couple of years ago, a friend and I loved it. Single rate is shown E120 - 130.

But that area you want is much more expensive for real estate, and hotels, than the others you named -- except for the Marronniers which is in that area. But you can't book that hotel for your price bracket now, it's a 3* hotel, except in a single room maybe.

So, are you talking about a single room, because I think there are a couple possibilities, in that case. But for the most part, single or double, there are really only a couple of hotels in that area that are 110 euro or less, so that really makes it easy. I think the only ones that exist in that specific area at that price are:

1*
Nesle
www.hoteldenesleparis.com
St Andre des Arts
see www.france-hotel-guide.com
Delhy's
see www.eurocheapo.com

2*
Hotel Louisiane
www.hotel-louisiane.net
Hotel Welcome
www.hotelwelcomeparis.com
HOtel de Lille
www.hotel-paris.lille.com (single only in that price)

I think that is really it in that exact area, and the Welcome is kind of stretching it in location, as it's really right on the corner of bd St Germain. There are a couple more if you go south of bd St Germain, and take a single room, but that still is a very limited price range in St Germain for a hotel.

I can't recommend any of these, I just know they are about the only ones at that price, you can look at Tripadvisor or something for reviews. one of those URLs I named, www.eurocheapo.com might be worth checking out

Thank you all so much for the recommendations you made. I apparently am going to have to up my budget seeing that the Euro is worth $1.36 today!! However, having not made the decision regarding hotel or apartment yet, I'll have lots of fun trying to find the "perfect" little gem to stay in for little money in the perfect spot!!! Right!!!!

Thanks again!
