local cafes near Duquesne Eiffel Hotel, Paris
 

Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on great cafes or restaurants near the Duquesne Eiffel Hotel. I am leading a group of ladies in Paris and Provence next month and there will be a couple of times where the meal isn't included in the tour and I'll need to suggest a place to eat near the hotel. Does anyone have a special place they have been to? Nothing fancy or expensive, just a nice local place with good food and nice people. Any other things you know of in that area that you like? Shops, etc? I've been to Paris many times and lived there many years ago. I've just never stayed in this particular area before. Thanks so much!

Shops? ha ha, are you kidding... that is right near rue Cler which is a 2-3 block long shopping street very popular with tourists.

What is your definition of not too expensive, though, that place isn't super cheap. But it's moderate, and you can't really just drop in that often (you can try, of course), as they are very busy and often booked up if you don't have a reservation.

I'm not over in that area that often, but loads of other folks are with resto recommendations, and there lots of thread on it, I'm sure. Just trying sticking Florimond into the search box for France, and that will probalby pull them up.

Agree with Christina re Le Florimond..I go there every trip. You definitely need advance reservations. It is very popular with the locals.
Don't think you can make reservations online..check the website..if not use a 1010 dialing number..really cheap.

Le Florimond for sure. Also La Fontaine de Mars, Punjab for great Indian food, and all the Christian Constant places on the rue-Ste-Dominique. L'Auberge Bresanne, Bistro de Bretheuil, and Pizza Tina.

Just steer clear of the Café du Marché on the rue Cler (and pretty much any other sit-down place there.

Everything StCirq says I wholeheartedly agree...Are you sure you don't want to stay longer?? We will confuse you with big decisions to make if you only have 1 free nights!!

Thank you all so very much! There are actually a few meals throughout their time in Paris where they will be on their own. Two lunches and one dinner, I think? Or, maybe the opposite. Flirt The (prounounced like tay) is 3 Ave Duquesne. A nice friend of mine after so many breakfasts there. Open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. His name is Florent. Good little spot. Stop by and say that Joan sent you!!

The Thai restaurant just a block south on Ave. Duquesne is good for a change of pace. Also La Terrasse, right on the Place Ecole Militaire is great for people watching, though I wouldn't dine there.

A simple but good steak/frites place that we have enjoyed 3 times is Le Bis-tro Vin Sobre on Duquesne where the old Calmont used to be.

There are 4 café/restaurants right on the Place de l'Ecole Militaire which will be your hub in that neighborhood.
