Local bus Florence area-really need help!!

We're staying at a place about 15km south of Florence. My son is arriving after us but doesn't know when! I've tried to access local buses but can't figure it out. Can anyone help me? The closest towns to our place are either San Vincenzo a Torri or Cerbaia. If he could take a bus from Florence to one of these two little towns, he could actually walk to our podere. Does anyone know if any bus would stop at either of these two villages? And if so, how can I get a schedule? This is a long shot, but hopefully someone out there can help. Many thanks.

Before you suggest I get hold of the podere owner, I am trying but so far, no luck!

Suggestion: If you're staying at a hotel, ask the hotel. If not, write to the town hall (municipio del comune di_________). That's how I got public transportation info. when I was planning visits to small towns in sicily and Basilicata. Both approaches work.

Or maybe you'll be lucky and either Paulo or Steve (from Bath) will happen to have the info you're seeking.

As mentioned, I'm trying to contact owner but he hasn't responded. I don't have time to write to the town hall as I'm leaving next week!! Paulo????

You must mean Podere Torricella near the village of Cerbaia. There is SITA bus service from Florence to Cerbaia.
He can get help at the station. However, I am curious why you cannot get help from the rental source. You must have paid money to someone---ask them for more details.

Hello BC,

Most SITA services leave from near Santa Maria Novella station.

As Bob says, he will be able to get help at the Tourist Info. office at the station. Otherwise if you especially need timetable info. beforehand, you could phone SITA:-
Tel: 0039-055-29.49.55

Steve
