Loackers at Napoli Train Station
 

Can anyone tell me where lockers large enough to accomdate a roller bag are located in the Naples Centrale train station? I know there are effectively two stations on top of each other here.

We'll be arriving from Rome, and have a few hours before our room is ready so thought we'd just hoof it around Naples. Then we'll be on to Sorrento via the Circumvesuvia.

There are no lockers at Napoli Centrale - or there weren't the last time I was there. There is a manual left luggage office which I believe is open 24 hours a day.
If you have a hotel room booked, then it might be easier to leave your luggage there. Even if your room isn't ready, hotels will keep luggage.

It's been a couple of years since I used the manned left luggage but I assume it's still in the same place :).

It's down the hall from the last track (#26?) and signposted in the Centrale Station.

All lockers in Italy were closed on 9/15/01 and most if not all of them have been removed.

My hotel is actually in Sorrento so dropping there would be tough. :)

Are the manned left luggage secure?

I have used the left luggage facility at Naples station several times without problem. It is a manned large store room with racks. The last time I used left Luggage in Italy, I had to hand over my passport. They made a copy of the front page and attached it to the bags. cost was about €4 per item for ?12 hours

The only issue with the storage is that you need to allow plenty of time to pick up the bags, as there can be queues or awkward customers.
