Liverpool FC match
Hello everyone, I made an account just for this topic and I hope I'll get some useful answers.
So, I'm from Croatia and I'm 17 years old, and I'm a big Liverpool fan. I hope that someday I'll go to Liverpool to see the town and to watch the match as a priority. The problem is that I don't know how to buy tickets, apparently they are all sold out months before the match, and I wonder what is the easiest way to get them.
Here's how it works in Croatia: our league is very unattractive and you just come in front of the stadium and buy a ticket.
How it works in England (if I got it right): You have to be a club member (also don't know how), and when they put tickets on general sale you have to be as quick as possible to get them. And I don't know how it works on the internet.
Any ideas of what is the easiest way to get them? Internet? Agency?

You could save up your money, buy from the touts on StubHub or a UK ticket exchange. I asked a similar question and basically gave up on the concept because it would be too expensive but I'm not a die-hard fan of any squad.
That said, how set are you on going to Anfield to watch them? If you're willing to go to the home of a team that's in or near the drop zone (like Wolverhampton or Wigan or similar second tier Premier League squad), you'll have a better chance.
Similarly, if you schedule a trip around Liverpool's European matches, you will have a better chance. I bought two tickets to Real Madrid's second Champions League group match (its first at home) at the Bernabeu direct from the club and paid 185 Euro (90E per seat, 2,5E for the "convenience charge" - for an American accustomed to using Ticketmaster or StubHub, that's a bargain). The seats were in the bottom tier about 1/3 of the way toward the 18-yard box from midfield and 20 rows up. These were excellent seats.
Liverpool plays in Europe nearly every year, as you know, so going to see the team in an away match may be an easier way to find them. The club's away allotment will be in bad seats (the Ajax seats for our match were on the fifth deck in a corner of the Bernabeu) and controlled by the club, which means you need to be a club member to get them. Buying direct from the home team could save you time and money.
Don't despair. I've never seen a home game of my favorite American football team because they've been sold out for decades, but I've seen them play in my current home town because tickets are easier to get.

Looks like you've done your research and unfortunately you're pretty much right. Tickets sell out almost immediately for home matches and you do indeed need to be a fan club member to be in with a shout of getting them through legitimate channels.
You can become a member on the Liverpool FC website (it's about £30 if memory serves from when I bought a membership for my father) and after that it's all about luck.
The site has an online ticket exchange where season ticket holders can sell tickets they aren't able to use (to members and season ticket holders only) and there used to be a yearly ballot where you apply and if you're lucky enough to win, you get hospitality tickets to a match. I don't know if this last option is still ongoing, but my parents won tickets a couple of years ago, so it does happen.
The other options would be to buy hospitality tickets (£200 and up roughly) or turn up to a match on the off chance that a tout will have a spare ticket to sell you at a hugely inflated cost...
The last option (which doesn't involve actually going to a match) would be to go to Liverpool when there's a merseyside derby on and head down to one of the pubs near the two grounds, soak up the atmosphere and watch the match on the pub TV. I know it's not quite the same, but I lived in Liverpool for a year about a mile from Anfeild and Goodison and the atmosphere on Derby day was unlike anything I've ever encountered at a sporting event.

Hi Valentin, Another approach is to write to the club itself, and ask if thy can do anything. The answer might be no, but it is worth a try.
When the team I support was in the premiership, they used to reserve a few tickets for every game specifically for overseas visitors - but you had to request them quite far in advance. Several fans I know from internet groups were able to travel from Scandinavia knowing they had tickets reserved.

Well, I've been thinking about getting a membership if I'm sure that I'll go, 30 pounds are not a big deal if that means I'll get a ticket. I'm not totally familiar with the system of getting lucky to get a ticket, or those hospitality tickets (never heard of it), but I sure will ask the club if they can do something about it. The idea of going to Liverpool is not so active at the moment but it might pop out if not this summer maybe next, but I just want to find out as much as possible about it on time.
