Loved your report! I like the sound of the updo! Maybe my daughter and I might try that! Where exactly is Ranelagh Park? Ialso have a 5 yr old daughter who would think she was in 7th heaven with merry go rounds and ponies! This would be great as she will be dragged around a lot with my older chidren and I'm looking for special things she will enjoy too!We will be in Paris on the 8th June!
|
Caroline, the park is just outside the entrance to the Marmottan. It would be pretty hard to miss. June weather should be perfect for a pony ride!
|
Great report with wonderful ideas! Have tucked this away to see if any fit for our first trip to Paris in just a couple of months. Thank you for taking the time to write about these 'little places' to visit.

I haven't been to La Defense and now I must get there. If there's any vacation time left by December, the Christmas market there is tempting.
|
Will definitely take some of your suggestions on my next trip...always something new to do in Paris. It never gets old does it?
|
We visited quite a few of the Christmas Markets and La Defense was by far the best. I would love to go at Christmas again.
|
Wonderful report. I never would consider La Defense as a must until this report. Will put it on my list for next year. The updos were a great girlfriend idea! Love it!

We had ridden the #1 metro dozens of times, always noting the terminus of
Château de Vincennes. So one day, we decided to ride to the end of the line where we were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful Château. http://en.chateau-vincennes.fr/ |
DebitNM, we've done that also and enjoyed it immensely! Actually, the day we went (a few years ago), we happened to be there during an eclipse. Had absolutely no idea that an eclipse was going to happen, but we did notice that everything seemed so crisp and sharp. The chateau was undergoing renovation, so it was quite a relaxed visit, no crowds, just a few visitors.

Very nice report.
I think rue de Passy is great for shopping. It has And nowhere else has Franck et Fils. I'm glad you got to the M. Marmottan. It's one of the gems a lot of visitors often overlook. |
"La Defense"
Thanks for posting this. For all my trips to Paris, this has never been on my radar, but it sure is now. Great report. ((H)) |
I actually have another report about La Défense by night:

As I started to read this I must admit I thought...darn we've done all that (some a few times) and then i saw the Château de Vincennes post...BINGO ... so, my question is this are there any other end of the line stops worth doing???? (we leave in 10 days...yipee)

Every time we planned to go to Vincennes it rained - a vary rainy week in Paris... for those heading to Paris soon, be sure to check out the Keith Haring exhibit at Palais de Tokyo - it is fabulous!
|
Hôpital St Louis, La Défense, Vincennes -- got it. Thanks.

That's just a start. There is so much more!
