List of Paris Museums/Monuments

I'm not interested in another guide book - no restaurants, hotels etc..

I'm looking for a concise list of the above which states opening hours, late nights, and day(s) closed. I don't want the list from the Museum Pass, but something that covers all of the above. I have Michelin, etc... but I want something on consecutive pages, not scattered throughout a book according to a areas of town.

Any such thing out there - possibly on line? I've checked but what I've found is not up to date or complete. Especially interested in the new openings/reopenings. I already have the info from various sources, but I want something all together.

Thanks,

Nina

Request the visitor information booklet - it's about the size of a Readers Digest, very lightweight. I put one in my purse every trip.

You can print it in 'sections' via .pdf

It is always quite possible to take the information given in the guide book/museum pass/online/etc and organize the information for yourself so that it is exactly what you are looking for.
I have a small list, but it is in no way comprehensive, and was mainly tailored for my family's interests.
If there isn't a comprehensive guide, maybe you could do something similar?

Well, it would seem that since the guide is available in .pdf, you can't get a print copy in the mail anymore. I looked on Franceguide.com, too.

Maybe if you email the Tourist Office, you can get one.

Thanks, great suggestions. I've checked them all and found some good stuff.

Check out ourjetboat's pariswater.com. Unusual and different information, along with some great pictures.

Nina and ourjetboat,

Thanks for the link to Pariswater. I edit a directory, and I'm always on the look out for good, small sites with unique information. - C

This wouldn't be good for planning purposes, but that's why I buy a current weekly entertainment guide at the newsstand when I am in Paris. That's one of their main functions, to list the current hours, closures, special exhibits, etc. of all museums and monuments, and they do it in a concise section of a couple pages.

I buy l'Officiel des Spectacles usually, but Pariscope is similar.

Also, if you don't read French, pick up a copy of "Paris Where" English monthly magazine - distributed free in most tourist hotel lobbies in Paris. If your hotel doesn't have it, go to the hotel next door (I've done this).

Rip out the 3 pages that list all the museum hours, special exhibits, etc. A great source - I once found out that the symphony was playing on the first level of the Eiffel Tower in Feb. - a great experience.

Paris Where -
another excellent suggestion. Since we stay in apartments, I pop into the first hotel lobby I see.

We always buy Pariscope, I hadn't thought about that.

I certainly wouldn't plan my trip around a fountain site, although look at the great pictures you would get. But, I enjoyed going through it and seeing so many fountains, and bridges that I hadn't seen in person, on the site.

The new things that I find before each trip to Paris, combined with the old familiar things, makes each visit special and 'new' at the same time.

Nina
