Lisbon to Evora and return by bus

I am unable to determine from travel guides what bus to take and from what station in Lisbon to go to Evora. Has anyone gone to Evora by bus ? I understand that there are more frequent trips by bus rather than by train. Would bus or train be simpler or easier to use ?

Hey,

I just returned from Portugal about a month ago, and got around primarily by bus the whole time. I departed Faro to visit Evora, but I do remember that one of the bus stations in Lisbon also had departures to Evora. I took a cab to the station, I remember it being in the northern part of town. Only the Rede Expressos buses operated out of this station. The best thing you can do is ask someone, many of them speak English and are more than willing to help. Also, the bus is by far the better way to get to Evora, the bus station is right outside the town walls, while the train station is a bit of a hike.

Thanks to both of you. I can't find anyone who understands Portuguese, but looks like the website has the trip hours. I am still unable to determine where in Lisbon to get the Rede bus. I've found maps in guide books that show where the bus station is in Evora, but not in Lisbon.

The Rede Expressos station is right outside Jardim Zoologico. You can get there on the Metro, the stop is the same name. I believe it is on the blue line. Hope this helps.
