Lisbon. Sheraton 40E!
 

A few rooms still left here and there until December 2012 at the Lisbon Sheraton on their special price 40E celebrating 40 years. It is a bit cumbersome to get to the exact page and to click on that offer, but it does exist. Thanks to flyertalk.com I saw it and acted quickly for some friends.

Hope someone can take advantage of the 2 night max for each booking, but multiple bookings are allowed.

Thanks! Looks like we can take advantage of this. Today is the FIRST day I have begun planning a trip to Lisbon, so this is a good sign! So glad you posted this special offer.

I have read this Sheraton is in the business district, and am wondering if that is a good location for our first visit to Lisbon?

It is a bit further "north" but IMO, with the fabulous savings, you can take taxis everywhere. Metro is nearby, I think. We are staying in the same area in June but at the real palacio as the offer was not available for our dates.

Lisbon is not that HUGE, but you are near some museums up there anyways where you certainly would be going.

I hope someone local can chirp in here. To be a few blocks "closer" to the coast is not important to me when I can save such an unbelievable amount of money. I think the trade-off is worth it but I am NOT a Lisbon expert. I have been a couple times and always near/in this neighborhood and had no problems getting around to everywhere I wanted to go.

I know what you mean, lincasanova. The offer is available for two of our six or seven nights. So it is a great savings, but we are opting for the convenience of one hotel and the 'grandeur' of the Hotel Avenida Palace, with breakfast, free wi-fi and parking. The pictures of the Sheraton interior don't attract us, especially that weird glassed-in bathroom.
