Lisbon / San Sebastian mid to late April
Let me nip in the bud the "look it up comments" by saying I am familiar with Weatherbase and have already checked there but besides the numbers, I am also looking for travelers with on the ground experience.
We usually travel mid-May but this year we are considering an earlier trip (in search of better airfare) and are thinking about a trip to Lisbon and SanSebastian. We don't have to beach and swim BUT we do like pleasant outdoor weather for some walking / hiking / biking and most importantly cafe sitting! So any of you that have traveled to these locations around the end of April, I would appreciate your feedback. My impression is that "prime time" for San Sebastian is actually summer but that's not going to happen - some pleasant spring-like weather will be acceptable. Thanks!

I was in San Sebastian from May 5-10 last year, and had beautiful, sunny weather every day with temps around 75. We were also often told how lucky we were b/c five straight days with no rain and warm temps were uncommon at that time of year.
I hope you get our luck!

You will probably see a fair share of rain in San Sebastián in April, but it can also be very pleasant. Not uncommon with plenty of both rain and sun on the same day, many showers and also lots of blue skies. 15 past years statistics for the last part of April in San Sebastián says daily highs between 55-66F, average six hours sun pr. day and rainfall half of the days. When I lived there some years ago, I had some nice swims in April.

Lisboa and San Sebastián sounds like a wonderful combination, two very different pearls of the Iberian peninsula.

I would love SS in either sun or rain..It is such a vibrant, lovely town and the sea is always awesome rain of shine. Do not miss Comb of the Wind on the coast in town. If the sea is rough all the better..Take plastic lonchos as they fit in your pocket and are a blessing although they do leave alot to be desired fashionwise..SS is a great spot and as Kimhe pointed 2 pearls of the penisula!!!
