Hello Jan,

I would also like to thank you for the information about this trail. Did you happen to go near a B&B called Casal Antigo? It is in Cascais near Guincho Beach and not far from Sintra. I wanted to get some information about the area in which it is located.

Rich, I am looking forward to reading your trip report.

Hi Marianna,
Malveira da Serra is a beautiful area. It is on the side of a large hill (or small mountain) about 15 minutes N of Cascais. There isn't much around there but it is well located to get to Guincho and Sintra. Basically, it is a tiny village and nice housing area in a very green area, bordering the national park. We looked at that B&B before going. I would have loved it but we stayed in a modern hotel in Cascais (Pestana Atlantic Gardens) b/c of our children and the fact that it had an indoor pool. Ahhh....the sacrifices parents make!
Cheers,
Jan

Thanks, Jan! We wanted to try something a little different from what we usually rent for a vacation. For the second week we are renting a villa at Praia da Luz. We will end our trip with one night at Quinta da Capela before returning home. This is our first visit to Portugal so we are looking forward to a new adventure.

Well there seem to be some good sources of info out there considering there arn't too many responses on Portugal related mssgs...
I have a question myself: I am travelling to Lisbon in early June, and have only three full days to see the best of Lisbon and the area... Any ideas? Any MUST SEE attractions?
After the three days, I am off to Sesimbra on the southern tip to enjoy a relaxing week on the beach... meeting up with my father who has a business seminar to attend to there on the touristy coast.
Care to share? Also, I may take a day or two to roam off to parts of Portugal from the Sesimbra beach area... any ideas? Thanks in advance!
