@lobo_mau,

How long would one reasonably expect to take driving from Sintra to Lisbon Airport, early on a Sunday morning? TIA.

lobo_mau Jan 12th, 2011 09:45 AM

30 minutes, road IC19

PS: G will email you in the next few days, since we are relocating to Sogra´s Inn during the next week and besides eating and sleeping, writing to friends is a good way of killing Alentejo´s time

Lots of information, a good picture of Portuguese and European 18th century societies.
IMHO is to much centered in the views and memories of the British Lisbon community, but very worth to read.

We plan to visit Lisbon and Ponte Delgada each for one week in May '12. Friends from Germany will join us for a portion of one of the weeks. I have been looking at apartments but I have not decided yet. I really want a green space(outdoor space)with tables and chairs and maybe a view. We were in Athens last year and we misseed not being able to sit outside and solve the world's problems. Any suggestions? Also, we all love neighborhood places to eat. We will do most of our cooking at home but when we do go out we like the kind of place wich has the owner and his kids there.

At 1st view I spotted Marvão, Monsaraz, Pena Palace (Sintra), Rocha Beach (Algarve), Comércio Square (Lisbon), D. Luis Bridge (Porto).

ttt----waiting for the return of Lobo ---has he disappeared?
Lobo - does the LDC still exist?

Sher Oct 17th, 2011 04:13 AM

I will be in New York this weekend and I want to try "the best chocolate cake in the world" shop there to compare it to Lisbon.
Wish me luck.
Yes, La_Tour_de_Cause. Lobo mau is alive and kicking.
Alas. The LDC is on hiatus, I believe.

lobo_mau Nov 3rd, 2011 08:39 AM

Good luck Sher!! :-)
Lobo Mau is more alive than kicking. The age is collecting it's burden, I'm affraid, there is no more stamina to run after the little red riding hood.
LDC is on hiatus, but always avaible to meet again, in case Sher or Nikky show up in town. We went to Gravatas last week and it is working up to the regular standards.
Matt doesn't look like Chewbacca anymore, he is more like the prophets of Old Testament, perhaps Moses. His 2 children are lovely.

I'm sure Little Red Riding Hood misses you. I know I do. But it sounds like you need a vacation. I have some suggestions...
