Lisbon Hotels In August

Am planning a quick 2-day (Sunday night through Wed. morning) stop in Lisbon. Any recommendations on hotels? Just one person and looking for moderate price range,

I have stayed at Hotel 5 d'Outubre on Avda. of the same name and at Hostal Estrela do Saldanha: Avda. Republica, 17 at the Saldanha station stop of MetroLisboa (Duque de Avila exit). Both are adequate: moderately priced & centrally located. At 5 d'Outubre, breakfast is in the 7th floor sunroom and is included in the room rate.

Estrela do Saldanha used to include breakfast at Pasteleria Versailles, next door.

Hi Pittsburgh. Listen to Ned, he knows his stuff.
We will be in Lisbon in August also and we are from Pittsburgh.
We love Lisbon.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE explain to us all what a "moderately priced hotel" is.

I have been posting here 10 years and still don't get it.

Ned - would you have links to these hotels? I'm having trouble finding them on google. I too am looking for a reasonably-priced hotel in Lisbon - about 50 Euro per night and centrally located.

Thanks!

To me, moderately priced means 100 euros and below. I am sure moderate is different for different people. Thanks for the tips.

I would say that 50 euro/night was budget rather than moderate...which is why numbers work better than adjectives.

I've stayed here: http://www.residencialflorescente.co...hp?lg=eng&op=0 - centrally located, bare bones but comfortable. But it matters which room you get, my first (a double) had very noisy AC units just outside and faced the breakfast room. My second (a single) was quieter, but the bathroom renovation was a bit older.

Carlos Ferreira: co-owner / Manager speaks passable English

If you look at the map on his website, you can see where he is in relation to Residencial 5 d'Outubre, which is on the corner of the intersection 5 d'Outubre & Duque de Avila

Thanks thursdaysd - 50 Euros is budget priced rather than moderately priced.

Ned - I never thought I could stay in a city for 30 Euros per night. I'm astounded! Is there some catch like 40 flights of stairs to the rooms? I don't care what language people speak for this price! LOL

Anyone - should I spend 3 or 4 days in Lisbon. The trip will be 2 weeks, starting in Porto and ending in Lisbon.

Any experience with the Tiara Park Atlantic? I see a rate of 213 euros for 3 nights, which looks like a pretty good deal.

we are staying at Brown's Luxury Apartments on R. Vitoria. www.brownsapartments.com. It is a studio, decorated very nicely and air conditoned, which believe me is great now.
There is no maid service or front desk but otherwise very nice, new and it has a king sized bed.
You might want to check it out. It is in Baixa.
