Lisbon hotels

My husband and I will be spending the final 3 nights of a week-long Spain/Portugal vacation in Lisbon. Any recommendations for a clean, comfortable hotel in a central location, close to sights and public transportation? We're hoping to keep the price at $100 USD per night. OR.... should we skip Portugal and stay in Spain, maybe head to Barcelona? We're spending the first four nights in Madrid. This trip will be in mid-February.

As I am fairly new to this message board, I do not know what "top" means. Please clarify. Thanks!
Jen

I wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Lisboa Tejo; I stayed there last week. The location is unbeatable, it costs in the ballpark of $75 per night (less in Feb), it's clean, the friendly staff speak english, and the breakfast (included) is better than most. It's not luxury, but a decent, inexpensive place to stay that is near all the sights and transportation.
You can book here:
http://www.maisturismo.pt/lisbtejo.html

Marlena

In November, I spent just one night in Lisbon on the way home from Morocco. I stayed at a wonderful hotel, which I think is right in the center of town, called the Lisboa Plaza. I had a two-room suite, huge bathroom, and it came with a full breakfast, all for $95!!! I couldn't believe it. This is a small, extremely charming, really lovely hotel. I was thinking at the time that maybe I'd plan a trip to Portugal just so I could stay there again. The value is incredible.
