Lisbon and Porto Combo Beach recommendations

Good morning from Long Beach, NY. Has anyone done a Lisbon/Porto vacation? Looking to take an excursion from Porto - one day cruise of the Douro River. Input? Also names of good beaches in Lisbon/Porto. Thanks so much!

Beaches near Porto and Lisbon

The closes beach to Porto is Foz do Douro. For Lisbon, you can go out to Cascais or to the Costa da Caparica or the beach at Cove do Vapôr.

There are several companies offering day trips to the upper Douro from Porto including Rent Douro (Rentdouro - Cruzeiros no Douro) and Porto Douro (https://www.portodouro.com/en/).

Along the Alto Douro

In Porto we took a long tram ride out to the city's western coast and fine beaches. The tram ride, in antique trams then several years ago, was a popular thing for tourists to do.

Lisbon take tram to Belem for newly reclaimed seaside but as Robert says Cascais is the best one close to Lisbon and easily reached by suburban train. Cascais is a famous resort with neat architecture extant from its heyday as a place where rich and famous would come.
