Lisbon Airport- domestic and international terminals
 

We will be arriving in Lisbon from another city in Portugal, and will be flying home to the US. We imagine there are different terminals - domestic and international flights. Yes? If so, how do we get from one to the other? Walk? Bus? Shuttle of some sort? How much time should we allow to make our international flight? Thank you in advance.

No - there is the main terminal and a 'departures-only' satellite terminal.

Thanks, though snark wasn't necessary and is atypical for these helpful forum postings. I did look at the website after I posted. I found it confusing.

Leave yourselves PLENTY of time for your departure. In early October, we arrived at the front of the airport at 8:15 AM for a 10:25 flight. We had a very quick check-in with United, a brief bathroom break, a not terribly long security check and the longest and slowest passport control we've ever seen in years of travel -- anywhere. We got to the gate at 10:10 on the run.
This was the same experience had by two others we know. I hope it's gotten better, but don't count on it.

So can I just check that if I am leaving Lisbon going to France, then I do not have to worry about the passport control since I will be moving within Schengen countries? Is two hours still required for an 8:00 AM flight on a Sunday? -Thanks!

Terminal 2 in Lisbon Airport caters for low-cost airlines (Ryanair, Easyjet etc.) serving Schengen Countries and the UK and Ireland. It it a new terminal but overcrowded and uncomfortable - think a bus station and you have the right idea. The last time I used it I was flying Lisbon to Dublin with Ryanair and the passport control was a bit chaotic. Availability of food, and drink is limited and there were long queues for the bathrooms.

As this website (http://lisbon-portugal-guide.com/lis...n-airport.html) says - "The experience of Terminal 2 reflects the negatives of low cost flying; endless queuing and very basic facilities."

We are flying TAP. Do they consider that a low cost carrier?

The website says to leave yourself 2 hrs, but I won’t consider any less than 3 based on above.....

Hi, I'm from LIsbon

There are 2 terminals, Terminal 1 for international flights and terminal 2 for low cost company's.
There is a shuttle between these 2 terminals. The 2 terminals are very close to each other.
You need at least to be 2 hours early for international flights. 3 hours is better.
