Lire exchange rate

I am traveling to Italy for the first time. Can someone tell me the approximate rate of lire to dollars?

Here's a convertor, there are many on the web.

http://www.xe.net/ucc/convert.cgi

Terry,
Check out www.oanda.com where you can get a "cheat sheet" that converts lire to dollars and vice versa in varying increments. The financial pages of any large newspaper will also print exchange rates as well.

Terry, right now the rate is:
$1.00 US = 1875.14 Italian Lire

As Steve mentioned, there are a ton of converters on the internet. I always go to Yahoo, search on currency converter and they have a really nice one. D

You can get your own 'cheat sheets' for all currencies at www.twenj.com/moneysheet.htm

In Italy you'll find most items priced in euros as well as lire. The euro is almost equal to the dollar ... close enough. You'll find it pretty easy to get a close idea of the 'cost' that way.

www.twenj.com
Rome.Switzerland.Bavaria
