Linz : Is it possible to exchange trains in 7 minutes?

I want to go from Salzburg to Prague in June 8th. The OBB website show me an option with one conecction in Linz, but I'll have only 7 minutes to do it. Is it possible? How big is the train station there?
Thanks,

How much luggage will you have? Can you easily pick it up, go down 3 steep steps to the platform walk the length of a train and go up more step to the next train. The time should be fine as long as you aren;t carrying too much stuff. Also - be sure to be at the door with luggage in hand when the incoming train stops. ( I've seen people wait until the train arrives to start to gather their stuff and then head down the aisle - wasting half their time.)

Thanks, I'll have just a carry-on, but I've never used European trains so I had no idea how far away could be one train from the other.

Presuming your train from Salzburg is not a small, local train then in the unlikely event that your train is delayed, then it is likely that the train to Prague will wait for it. Linz is a small station and I can't see you having any problems. You might want to consider stopping off in Cesky Krumlov (a short hop from Ceske Budejovice - which is on your route).

Linz main station has a regular layout with parallel tracks/ platforms. It looks like this:

You don't pass through the station building but simply change platforms. There are elevators. You may have to walk 50-200 yards. Which you should be able to do in 7 minutes.

When the train from Salzburg is on time, it will be a breeze.

If there is any confusion, immediately ask the conductor. Usually can find one as soon as you step on the platform.
