Lindau Accommodation
 

Looking for overnight accommodation in Lindau as we are travelling by rail from Zurich to Munich late September and want to break the trip for one night. Any suggestions will help

We stayed at the Hotel Garni-Brugger a couple of years ago. It is not on the water but a close walk. A great bargain as I believe we onoy paid about $100/night for a triple room (which was HUGE). Great breakfast. Charming family-run hotel.

We had looked into Lindau, too, but couldn't get to every place we wanted so will save for next time. When we were looking, though, we thought of the Inselgraben, which is closer to the water and train station. Here is the website--though it's in German:

Post a report when you return--not many visit Lindau or report on it. Looks like a beautiful place. Enjoy!

Karen Brown has recommendations for inns in Lindau and in Meersburg (across the lake). It's a beautiful area! We stayed in a small hotel in Wallhausen and took ferries to all of the towns around the lake. Love that area!

You are going to love Lindau! Lovely old town and very beautiful harbor. You'll wish you could stay more than one night. J.

I can't say I know too much about the Inselgraben beyond what I can decipher from their German language website. It looks like an older "character" place (1500s era bldg), in a quiet area. The info we received from the tourism office contained a chart of all the hotels. The Inselgraben has rooms w/ bath or shower & WC, tv, telephone in room & beer garden on premises. No lift or AC. Cost is 39-45 Euro/person
