Oh Linda, I truly enjoyed your report!

<i>"The many little "places", or tiny squares, each have individual charm and a plethora of cafes."</i> Well said, and so very true! I can so remember our early trips with our kids, never really understanding all these people just sitting in cafes for what seemed like hours. We had so much to do then, trying to pack everything into each minute of our vacation time, rushing here and there. Nowadays, however, we seek out those tiny squares and the little cafes, where we enjoy a long lunch or dinner, people-watching, enjoying life. Lovely!

Now, off to view your photos.

kenav, the breakfast was typical French....croissants, bread, cereal. Very simple. It was included in the room cost, where the other places charged for breakfast. I don't think it was air conditioned. We had cool nights and mild days, so none was needed. Our windows in the bathroom and bedroom provided us with a great breeze. The place is way off to itself in the countryside, sleeping was great!

You might want to take a peek at tripadvisor and read the reviews. That's what influenced me to book this Chateau over some others.

We have never been to this part of France, but through your beautiful photos I now feel that I have. We will put it on our "go to" list. I especially liked #36----I don't know why except maybe the way the stairway winds up through the town.

Your photos really are lovely and tell the story of your trip. What kind of camera did you use? I also like the way they were displayed through My Photo Album. I'm going to check it out.

Thank you for brigthening up my day.

We visited this area three years' ago after seeing our neighbour's photos. We knew nothing of the Dordogne. Looking at your wonderful pictures makes me want to do it again. We loved our trip. Cute couple!

Such nice comments- thanks! Today's my birthday, so double the pleasure! Yes, Rick and I are great travel companions. We stay busy and running.

He uses a Sony Cybershot 12.1 megapixels

I also like myphotoalbum. It's $20 a year, but you get discounts on lots of things. I made Rick a mug and mousepad after our last 2 trips. Gotta find something to make him for his birthday!

How easy is it to use your camera? How long was the learning curve ... considering that your husband used a bidet as a toilet! My nephew also has a Sony Cybershot - great looking photos from him, too.

Ha ha ha...he just can't get that bidet connection! I remember the first time I saw one (I was 17) and we were clueless as well!

This is his second Sony camera, so he's quite good with it. He also uses a photo editor to improve contrast, etc before I post them. We just have to come up with a better labeling system. Taking notes would probably help, lol.

You are lucky you have a handsome husband. Many women have fat husbands with no hair.

My wife has a thin husband with lots of hair. I remember my first experience with a bidet as a real estate appraiser. Thought it was some kind of a sink so I leaned over it and turned on the faucet. Was met with a blast of water in the face, much to the bemusement of the home owner.

Ha ha has ha. I'm back from my birthday dinner with my handsome husband. I will say, he takes great care of himself. However, he knows how to enjoy life and is exceedingly generous and fun.

Linda loved your trip report. Brought back great memories of our trip last year.

Loved your photos, I'm sad to say I didn't get to post all my photos on my trip report. So I appreciate your effort

Great report! I did the same trip a few years ago, but without the Bordeaux area. I stayed awhile in the northern Dordogne area instead. Loved it all. Sounds like you really enjoyed your trip.

Linda, love your trip report. I headed to that area in September and was very interested in the places you visited. Thanks so much for taking the time to post the details.

Another Linda.
