Linate - 24 Hour Airport?

I have to get an early flight from Linate at 6.40am on Tuesday 23rd Sept and was planning on getting to the airport late on Monday night and killing time there for five hours or so. Is Linate a 24 hour airport and will any of the cafes or food outlets be open through the night?

Not a definitive answer, but I would bet not. It's a small airport, and I can't think of any reason it would be open 24/24. And on airwise.com - - normally a good website for particulars of "major" airports, I found only this reference to bus service between MPX and LIN - - last service 22:30 and first service at 04:30, so this would suggest that the place more or less shuts down.

There isn't any trans-atlantic service there, as far as I know. I have flown into LIN twice, from London and from Frankfurt.

Best wishes,

Rex

I am virtually certain that it is NOT a 24 hr. airport. The first morning departures are at 6:40 a.m.; the first incoming airporter bus from Milano Centrale arrives around 6:00 a.m. (departs from the Station at 5:40 a.m.), and the first airporter bus returning to Milano Centrale leaves at 6:05 a.m. I can't imagine that cafes would remain open after the last night departure, or more than one hour before the first morning departure.

Go the web on this one.

Linate is not small. Maybe it is a happening 24-hr airport.

I think you'd be better off finding a place to sleep for a few hours and taking a cab to the airport early. It may be open 24 hours, not sure, but if it is, you'll be about the ONLY soul hanging around.
