limousine services - milan - rome

Will be traveling with 6 people to milan & rome. Any suggestions for limousine services in these towns. Planning to stay at the Starhotel Rosa in Milan and Mecenate Palace in Rome, any information on these would be helpful. Additionally, it appears half the posts on this sight feel termini station area is unsafe, others feel it is fine. How safe is it going from termini to the mecenate around 9:30 pm, walking or cab? Any help would be appreciated.

Also would like feedback on the town of Lugano, Switzerland. Would this be a nice day trip from Milan.

sdr-
The Termini area will have plenty of cabs, and you should be fine, as many other posters have been. Just use the same good sense you'd use in any large city when you're traveling.

For Rome, I highly recommend booking a limo through www.limoservicerome.com They are very professional, reasonably priced, and have been used by a number of the members of this forum.

Buon Viaggio,

Hi, sdr,

I stayed at the Mecenate Palace in November and will be staying there again in September. It is perhaps 4-5 blocks from the Termini station, and kitty corner to Santa Maria Maggiore church. I was never at the station very late in the evening so cannot comment on the area at night. At the times I was there, there were always lots of people and I regularly walked to and from the station. Cabs should also be readily available. I didn't consider the Termini area a "bad" area at all (and certainly the Mecenate Palace itself is in a nice/good location and provides great value for money at their current rates).

Anyway, let us know your impressions when you return.

Happy travels,

John H.

We used Flavio Gioia services to take us from Naples to Positano back in April. Wonderful Experience - nice Mercedes car, English speaking driver who will stop along the way for photo shoots and tell you what you are seeing as you ride.

One nice aspect about using them is that you may pay credit card at their office after your trip. They have offices everywhere.
