Lille 3000 Eldorado event - not to be missed

The city of Lille has just begun its 8th month cultural event, held every 2 or 3 years. This time the theme is Eldorado and showcases Mexico as well as lots of other things since Eldorado is a different thing for everybody -- migrants crossing the ocean for a new life, astronauts going to the moon or people sitting in a room decorated by King Midas. Some of it is total junk and some of it is fabulous, but in any case there are so many things to see that everybody should be satisfied.

Here is my photo report about it : https://tinyurl.com/lille3000-eldorado

This video is part of the report, but just the inaugural parade should give you an idea of the effort that the city and the people of Lille put into this event:

The parade is spectacular. And that chandelier!

I have to return to Lille this summer because some personal photos are being exhibited for the "Mexico Mio!" event currently in progress.

For those of you in Paris, don't forget that Lille is just 62 minutes away by TGV.

Lille has the best Flemish food and the museum was wonderful. Seven euro and no line. Thank you.

When I went on the opening weekend of the Lille 3000 event, the museum was free.
