LIDO or MOULIN ROUGE
Which one of the 2 should i choose?
i heard the lido is really good, and that the Moulin Rouge is a tourist trap, but... The Moulin Rouge is the most famous of paris' shows... what do you think? |
neither... aren't they both tourist traps?
|
Agree both are tourist traps - with old fashioned Ls Vegas type shows, very expensive drinks and even more expensive and awful food.
Frankly, I don't understand the attraction - when you could be seeing real entertainment (opera, ballet, symphony, jazz club or any of a dozen other places). |
DITTO!

Don't Go...Don't go.....Don't go....
|
Neither.
Go to Au Lapin Agile if you want to experience a "real" Parisian nightclub. |
nytraveler is spot on. We went to MR years and years ago (wife's first trip to Paris, my third) knowing it was touristy, but it was worse than we anticipated. Not worth the time or money.
|
Someone "treated" my husband and me to the drivel at the Moulin Rouge, even though we said we didn't want to go there and it was a waste of the person's money and our time. We would rather have gone to the Opera or the Ballet.
|
Neither.

Hi yv,
If you must go, don't buy the dinner. ((I)) |
Depends on your interests. I wouldn't be caught dead at an opera performance or a ballet. Agree with Ira, skip the food at MR.
|
If you go to a ballet, don't sit close to the stage. Really gross.
|
If I had to choose one, I'd definitely choose the Moulin Rouge, at least it has some history behind it. The Lido is just a regular las-vegas-y type show with no purpose or history to it, except it draws folks off the Champs-Elysees.
These shows only exist for tourists, you know. But if what you heard appeals to you, go to the Lido, you know what you like. |
