Lichtenstein Trail

Hi - My husband and I are considering hiking the Lichtenstein Trail in June when we are in Europe. I’ve found some great articles but no personal reviews about it - or hotels / B&B suggestions. Has anyone done this hike? I’m in good shape but live in flat Virginia … wondering how rough the mountainous parts are? Thanks!

I know the area and have hiked on the other side of the Rhine (the Rhine is very small this far from the sea) a bit, but I've not done this new tour. It can be steep, but if there is tarmac then the post buses can get through and if the post buses can get through a human can do it. Since a lot of the "country" is on the flood plain those bits are super flat but the Rhine gorge rises steeply so you are going to have to push. But frankly I very much doubt it will be "rough", more like velvety smooth but steep in places.

One thing to note is that everything costs a lot in this place, no really, I cannot over emphasise this enough, your wallet will be screaming by the end of the day. Have I mentioned money? You have been warned.

Thanks for the insight AND warning about how expensive it is! Appreciate it.

Do you really want to spend 5 days for this trail?
