"The Fodorites would be the ones huddled nervously together in a corner with black socks, white trainers and nothing else"

--except their fodors pins, of course, but don't ask me how they would have affixed them.

Although there are some sex shops in Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin etc., they would be a poor match for the stuff you would find in Amsterdam. I would suggest adding that to your itinerary. (make sure you get a hepatitis booster shot before you leave.)

Surfergirl Jun 10th, 2004 02:26 PM

Diane, would you please wait until I've finished work before writing things that make me explode in laughter and fall off my chair!

capo Jun 10th, 2004 02:45 PM

elle, merveilleux! :)

And speaking of that direction..I'm surprised this thread is still up.

NYCFoodSnob Jun 10th, 2004 02:50 PM

.......expyrement - hot sex?

WhistlerAl Jun 10th, 2004 03:10 PM

Okay, I wasn't sure that I was ever going to post this, but this seems to be the right thread. This popped into my head on our recent trip to France( which I will be posting a trip report on soon) After dinner one night in Obernai, we wandered into our bar in the Le Park Hotel, and spent the evening being entertained by Razar, the Iranian Bartender extraordinaire. I woke up at 4 am with this spinning in my head, so I got up and wrote it down.
If you enjoy it, great. If you don't, I don't need a lecture in the arts, poetry, geography, or spelling, tyvm ( you know who you are)
.. Pastise..
This happened one day
in a bar in Marseille
While pondering Van Gogh and Matisse
Instead of a beer
It became perfectly clear
We're in France, let's order Pastise
Well, Pastise is a drink
served with water and ice
it's a treat that shouldn't be missed
But although very smooth
with a taste that is nice
2 or 3 and you're seriously pi**ed
and so it came to be
That Adrienne and me
missed all the sights to be seen
and went back to our room
for the whole afternoon
to practice our French,.....
if you know what I mean!!!
OOH LA LA

"expyrement"...very funny!

Hmmm....now I'm getting an entirely new impression of the Pyreknees mountains.

NYCFoodSnob, that website name is hilarious, imaginary or not!:-d

capo Jun 10th, 2004 03:58 PM

Speaking of bangs...there was a rock music critic (R.I.P.) whose articles I used to like to read named Lester Bangs who wrote for Rolling Stone, Creem, and the Village Voice. A website I just found called him "the great gonzo journalist, gutter poet, and romantic visionary of rock writing- its Hunter S. Thompson, Charles Bukowski, and Jack Kerouac all rolled into one."

glgray2 Jun 11th, 2004 12:49 AM

Wow, didn't know we would ignite such a response! We'd like to thank a few of you (you know who you are <wink>), who responded privately via email and gave us some VERY interesting suggestions..hmmm now I wonder how you knew about these places? Glad there are at least a few others out who also enjoy the steamier side of life, it's easy to get stuck in a social rut here in the U.S. sometimes isn't it? The only downfall is that our vacation picture album may have to be broken into several pieces, with only the "G" portion available to family for viewing. Will have to report back in a few weeks, leaving tomorrow. Everyone take care !

Scarlett Jun 11th, 2004 04:29 PM

glgray, please please do post a trip report.
The Yankee had a client years ago, who liked that sort of 'socializing' and he found it useful to own a yacht and a chimpanzee named Mr Jiggles or Jiggs or something..the monkey would rollerskate along beside the client and his girlfriend and they made 'friends' all over the world. Or at least in a few ports~
Have fun and stock up on your items from the drug store!!

Oh, Scarlett, the images that calls to mind! :-D

Don't get too excited about seeing nudity in Europe. Usually the people who are most into nudism are the ones you least want to see in the nude. ;) I agree that Amsterdam sounds more up your alley, or perhaps Copenhagen.

Sorry I can't give any specific answers to your questions, it's just not my thing. However, I do not judge and I can't wait for your trip report. I hope I can catch it before the editor deletes it. Have a good trip and be safe, in every sense of the word....heehee.... :-))

Sue_xx_yy Jun 11th, 2004 06:45 PM

And the nominees are: elle, ira, capo, Marilyn, Scarlett..

(drum roll...)

ira Jun 12th, 2004 03:49 AM

and whistler,

Great poem.

just1dayoutoflife Jun 12th, 2004 07:57 AM

Good luck finding the sex-o-rama nude beaches in the Bavarian Alps, dear ;)

Rothenburg is such a swingers location, isn't it?

I agree with Amsterdam, I've heard stories.....or Berlin, as well.

clevelandbrown Jun 12th, 2004 01:17 PM

In Bern there is the famed barengarten.
