LHR to Birmingham
 

As a last minute consideration, I've been thinking of traveling from Heathrow, where I'll be staying for two days in September, to Birmingham, UK, to see if I can locate my great-grandparents' home. Can anyone tell me how far it is from LHR and what type of transportation would serve me best.<BR><BR>My sincer thanks,<BR><BR>Melanie

Bus from Heathrow to Reading departure every half an hour,takes about 40 minutes. From Reading direct Train to Birmingham departure every 30-40 minutes,takes about 1 1/2 hours.

A couple of years ago I took a National Coach bus direct from downtown Birmingham to Heathrow. The trip took about 2-1/2 hours. It was fairly expensive because I bought the ticket on the spot - it is much cheaper if you can book in advance.
