LHR Terminal 3 hotel
I’ve got an early flight out of LHR Terminal 3. Anybody have a favorite hotel near Terminal 3? Thanks in advance!

Any of the MANY hotels along the Bath Road - all the usual suspects -- Premier Inn (2 or 3), Sheraton, Renaissance, Holiday Inn, Radisson, Ibis, Hyatt Place, etc etc - or The Hilton Garden Inn at T-2 or Aerotel at T-3 . . . just depends on your budget (rates tend to be very date dependent) or chains you may have points with.

I stayed at the T2 Hilton Garden Inn just after it opened. T2 and T3 are connected by a tunnel, and unless you have mobility problems it’s easy to walk between the two, which I’ve done with a small backpack and a wheeled suitcase. It’s much more convenient than the Bath Road hotels.

Be careful if you're looking at the T4 Premier Inn, as it seems T4 is temporarily closed but the hotel is still taking bookings.
I stayed at the T4 Premier Inn when I arrived late one night and didn't want to take the tube in to the city after midnight. That one is connected to Heathrow by a very long walkway (as opposed to the other Premier Inn T2&3 and T5). It was absolutely fine with a self-check in. It's a premier inn, nothing special but was quiet and I don't recall having any complaints. Safe travels! |
To clarify re ChgoGal's post, the T-4 Premier Inn isn't one of the ones I mentioned that are on the north side of the airport/on the Bath Road. It is 5 miles from those properties and is over on the south side of the airport.
The Hilton Garden Inn is the most convenient of all (other than the Aerotel) and would be most people's 1st choice, but their rates have been really high for most dates (almost Sofitel T-5 high) so plug in your dates to see which ones fit the budget. In Dec when I was considering a night at LHR, the HGI was $234 while the Sheraton Skyline was $129, the Ibis was $97 and one of the Premier Inns was even lower.. The Ibis, Sheraton, etc, are 10 minutes away via the paid Hoppa Bus. The Hoppa only runs on a 30 minute schedule for most routes. The Aerotel is a transit hotel similar to but nicer than a Yotel -- very small/ingeniously designed rooms, booking for short layovers or overnight. It would be the most convenient of all since it is in T-3 but I personally don't like rooms without windows - especially at the rates they charge. |
The Atrium hotel is in a good location, right opposite Hatton Cross station for an easy transfer to T3. There’s also another Hilton Garden Inn close by, right on the bus routes for the airport.

Thanks!
Got a pretty good deal at the Hilton Garden. Thanks for the advice.
