Do you mean the Hotel Kensington on the Ave de la Bourdonnais in Paris or someplace else?

Renay, there is indeed a London Hotel called "L'Hotel". It's in Basil Street, Knightsbridge (not Kensington), just behind Harrods and is affilliated to the Capital Group. Perhaps that's what your friend recommended.

I have walked past it many times and been in it once to visit a friend staying there. The rooms are VERY compact, tiny in fact. But it's clean and the location is excellent (if you want to be in the 7th; I like the neighborhood but it's not for someone who wants a lot of nightlife nearby). The hotel is on the side that overlooks the Eiffel Tower; it's possible that the higher floor rooms have Eiffel Tower views, but I'm not sure. Either way, ask for a street view room. The streets are quiet at night so you won't be bothered by noise and Ave. de la Bourdonnais is an attractive, tree-lined street. The hotel is surrounded by very expensive apartment buildings. It's a short walk to the popular rue Cler shopping street and also a short (3 minutes? 5 tops) to the Ecole Militaire metro stop.
I would not take breakfast in the hotel; have it at one of the nearby cafes.
BTilke (Brussels)
