Let me try again - who is going to be in Italy in October??
 

I posted this question last week but realizesd that my message title may have been too vague (something that causes one reader's "blood to boil" as I recall). So, I am trying again to get some responses.
A group of us is traveling for the first time to Italy and I for one would like to know who among my beloved Fodorites might be in the country at the same time. Even if I never run into you, always is a nice, cozy feeling to know you are out there roaming the Italian countryside.

We are in Tuscany/Siena starting Oct. 9 through the 15. We will be doing quite a bit of traveling by car to Florence, Pisa, Cortona, etc. Then in Rome on the 16th before we fly back home (Atlanta). Anyone going else going to be around???

Party of 3, in Italy for the 1st time as well!! The rest of the itinerary is in nov though, so thats for another thread.

Looking forward to going to Venice on 8 October, returning the 16th.

My husband and I will be in Rome Oct. 8th & 9th then to Cinque Terre 10th & 11th then off to Florence thru the 15th (one day to see Sienna and a winery or two) and back to Rome till the 18th. Our 3rd trip to Italy, and I can't wait. Just hope we have as much fun as we did in 2002 in Sorrento and Amalfi Coast.

Maybe we'll cross paths a little - at least in Rome - we'll be there the 16th - or at one of the wineries. We are visiting one during our trip but I am not sure which one or which date. Have fun!

My husband and I will be in Siena October 18th and leaving on the 20th going to Asciano and Orvieto on the 21st and 22nd. Then on to France burgundy areas.

Fly into Naples Oct 22, then on to Sorrento for one night. We rented an apartment in Praiano from Saturday to Saturday, back to Naples for one night, then it's our journey home (Los Angeles, CA) My anxiety is turning into anticipation. I should be excited by next week.

I will be in Italy with my sister at the end of October - looks like we will miss you, seaside1, as we arrive on the 20th. However, we may run in to Wildfire in Rome! Did you decide against Venice for a day or two, Wildfire?!

That sounds great! We are staying at the Hotel San Carlo, near the Spanish Steps, and not too far from the Villa Borghese....
How will we get in touch over there?
We could set a specific time & day & place, I suppose....

I'm a newbie here but I will be in Venice Oct 8th through the 13th.

We will be in Siena Oct. 8-10, Florence Oct. 10-11, Venice 11-14 and Florence again Oct. 14-17. Where are you staying in Siena?
