Has anyone been to L'Escala Spain?

It's been a couple of years since we've been there. It's a beach community on the Gulf of Roses, up the coast from Begur and south of Roses, busy in the summer.

We're staying in Montgo L'escal in July. What places of interest are in the vicinity? Any suggestions? We're there for 1 week.

You won't be far from Figueres (Dali Museum) Cadaques (Dali's home) and Gerona (Pubol Castle). Girona in itself deserves a visit.
Also :The monastery of San Pere de Rodes, the cloister of Vilabertran, the Greco-Roman ruins of Empuries, the medieval cities of Pals and Torroella de Mongri, the Nature Park of Cap de Creus, the Aiguamools Nature park, the ceramics of La Bisbal.......
