Les Ombres Paris

Have any of you fine folk ever dined at Les Ombres Paris @Quai Branly?

The restaurant has stunning views of the Eiffel Tower, but how is the food?

Keith and I will be in Paris December 4-10.

Thank you,
Thin

I didn't think the food was as great as the view.....which was wonderful.. But it was a lovely evening and I have been back twice more. Do be sure you book on the half hour so you are seated for the hourly twinkling lights.....

I answered your Lounge thread about this, basically saying the same thing as Traviata: nice view, food for me was just okay. Unlike her, I've never gone back and don't feel compelled do so. However, not a terrible choice if you're planning to be there anyway.

Have a wonderful trip!

Thank.you both.

Is there any special occasion restaurant you would recommend? We are looking at lunch, not dinner. We are always too tired from wandering to eat late.

Oh, I assumed it was for dinner...that is where the drama is with the lights....I likely would pick another place for lunch...

We were SO unimpressed. Jules Verne cost the same, and the food and service there was out of this world. This place was a total “meh.”

What if you had a fabulous, romantic picnic in the park, looking at the Eiffel Tower?

You could make it a surprise, even have it 'catered' with champagne, cake, linens, etc. Just an off-the-wall idea. I have the feeling that you've dined at the finest places, and something whacky different might suit you.

Hello? We are going to Paris in December. A picnic? Are you daft?

Oh, how I long to sit on the cold damp ground eating pie from Fauchon. And we certainly are not dragging our Asprey picnic hamper to France with us.

Off with your head.https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fod...e9b4c75091.gif

Christmas markets will be at Champ de Mars. Save one night for that stroll and the Effiel light show. We rented close for the night fun. We love having a big lunch also and having drinks and lighter fare in the evening. I am sure we will eat lunch one day at cafe Constant but for a view maybe Les Ombres.

Ooops-- I missed that you said in December! haha.

For some reason there are two titles for the same thing......left you some thoughts further on.....
