Les Miz in London in January

My daughter and I will be in London in late January. She is dying to see Les Miserables. Should I order tickets now or wait till we get there?

Thanks for all advice.

You shouldn't have a problem - most of the time now there are tickets available, especially for the matinee performances. As ever, though, if she's really desperate I'd book in advance just to have the peace of mind.

I think you can wait. From what I've seen, you can get half price tickets at the booth in Leicester Square, on the same day as the performance.

To see a list of shows that are available 1/2 price, see this link:

http://www.solt.co.uk/index.cfm/fa/TKTS.showPage/pgs/OnSaleToday/contentId/C1E0CAA0-69C0-11D6-B030-0002B32380F6

The list is updated everyday, and not every show is available everyday, but Les Miz has been on it for a while, so you shouldn't have a problem.

We will be in London in January also and Les Miz was a "dying to see" for my husband. As the previous poster said, for "peace of mind" I called the theater directly ( go to the theater monkey web-site and look at a seating plan) We got great seats for the night we wanted. Tickets arrived in the mail within a week. If this or any show is a "must see" the half price booth may not always have what you want. Why take the chance. Enjoy!

If you don't have to go on a particular day (ie. you're going for a week & could go anytime) I'd wait & see if they're at the 1/2 price booth. If you're only there a short time or must go on a certain day, I'd get them ahead of time.

My husband and I saw Les Miz in London on our honeymoon 10 years ago, it was a highlight of our trip! We got our tickets at the 1/2 price booth, but if it is already on your "must do" lists I side with the peace of mind crowd, have your tickets ordered and enjoy the show!

We were in London two weeks ago and really wanted to see Les Miz. On Monday morning I lined up fifteen minutes early at the half-price booth.
There were about twenty people in front of me. I bought three tickets for 20 pounds each( regular 37.50 pounds). Much to our surprise we were in the front row,two seats left of center.
For me and my two kids it will be an evening we will never forget.

I saw it this past June, and it was fantastic. I was able to get tickets easily just hours before the show, but there were only a few left. If you book the day before you shouldn't have a problem.

I went to the box office and bought tickets there in '95.It has been playing so long, and the theater is one of London's larger ones, that you should have no problem getting them at the half-price booth, especially in January.

A Simple Answer, which depends on your seating desires:

if you want to make sure you have good seats, call the box office and order directly now.

If you don't care where you sit, you can get tix from the half-price ticket booth the DAY OF THE SHOW. Or, if you see les miz on a WWEKNIGHT, there is a good chance you can purchase tickets Half-price at www.theatrenow.com

MY $0.02 - if your daughter is dying to see the musical, why not just pay full price to get great seats? Full price is only like 60-65 GBP for the best seats in the house. You'll wish you had once you're in the theater.
Correction on ticket prices...I think best seats are 65 U.S. Dollars (40-ish GBP)
