lenin's tomb? kremlin?

Anyone have advice on what time of day & day of the week are best for checking out the sights around Red Square? I'm trying to avoid the crowds. Also, any first-hand info on the easiest ways to buy tickets, if necessary?

Yeah Lenin's tomb is really nice. Totally gave me chills when I walked in that room and saw him. Looks just like he did when he died 85 yeaRs ago

When will you be going? There is no set schedule for Lenin's tomb, and it is free.

Don't worry about crowds, just go. (once again, Red Square is closed at random, so.......)

Just enjoy shopping at GUM and looking at the wares of the sellers outside of GUM.

The Kremlin is open from 10am to 6pm Fri-Wed. During the Fall only groups with guides were being admitted, however this may now have changed. The main ticket office is in Alexandrovsky Garden. You are not allowed to take in large bags and photo permits are available. The main entrance is near Trinity Gate Tower and Kutafya Tower. There is also another entrance at Borovitskaya Gate, mainly used by those going directly to the Armoury. For more information see: www.kremlin.museum.ru.

Lenin's Tomb is open 10am-1pm, Tues-Thurs, Sat&Sun. The line-up is at the northwestern corner of Red Squate. Check your camera and bags at the left-luggage office beneath Kutafya Tower in Alexandrovsky Garden. The main part of Red Square is usually close when Lenin's Tomb is open. Lenin's Tomb may also be closed if VIPs are visiting.

You didn't mention when you're going, but be advised that Red Square itself has been closed, at least on and off since the Chechen bombings in July. I was there in August and the entire square is cordoned off with militia everywhere. Lenin's tomb was still open with the hours mentioned above and the line is very long. It is well worth it though, very odd. Do not try to sneak a camera or anything electronic through. You'll be wanded at least once and go through two other metal detectors on the way from the first checkpoint to the entrance of the tomb. No problems, they're very efficient, oddly enough, and businesslike.
