LeHavre to Normandy Beaches

We are two couples cruising from Rome to England. One of the ports we visit is LeHavre and the ship offers a tour of the Normandy Beaches for a price we can't afford. Does anyone know if there are any tours offered by companies in LeHavre? Two years ago we were able to find Red October in St. Petersburg on this site and were very pleased with the service and the price. Would it be possible to rent a car? Thanks in advance.

You can easily rent a car in Le Havre; check out the prices on AutoEurope. You might think about getting a car with driver--not really a guide, but someone who knows the area.

We are looking for the same thing. I will be on a cruise with a one day stop at Le Havre, France in May. A trip to the beaches of Normandy and the American Cemetery are offered at a rather high price. Added to this is the fact that we are in a group of 8. The cost would be about $1200 for the 8 of us...I will let you know if I find anything. jdp08050

Tiours of the beaches leave from Deauville, which is a short drive from Le Havre, but I'm afraid I can't give you a company name.

There also is bus service, Les Bus Verts de Calvados, from Le Havre to Deauville. However, if all you have is a day stop in Le Havre, that may not be enough time.
