legoland deutschland

We are headed to oberammergau for a week and hope to do legoland (at least one day maybe two). We've been once but was wondering if anyone knew of where to buy discounted tickets to the park. Any other suggestions on kid friendly places to go would be appreciated. We have done the castles, indoor waterparks, cable cars and just enjoy the hiking. Kids are 6 and 7.

I have not been, but there is an amusement park near Ravensburg. Ravensburg is home to Ravensburger Games - maker of some great board games (including Amazing Labyrinth - perhaps my favorite board game).

And don't forget Europapark in Rust. Our favourite amusement park.

From Oberammergau, Allgäu Skyline Park should be the closest:

But the rides are targeted at older kids than yours, IMO.

But with regard to the age of your kids and your location, Legoland seems like a no-brainer.

Legoland has some discount for advance online ticket purchases.

ADAC (German AAA) offers €5 discounts per ticket for Legoland, but you have to download the voucher from ADAC's members-only section of the website - which you cannot access. Maybe they will honor your AAA card for admission - won't hurt to ask. Or ask your hotelier if they are ADAC members and can print you the coupon.

If you know enough German to handle ebay in German, you will find many auctions there, e.g. for 20% off coupons for up to 4 people. Just make sure you bid for the right Legoland (= Günzburg). www.ebay.de
